HOW TO WRITE A UNIQUE CV AND SECURE THAT DREAM JOB.



This guide is a vital tool for the earnestly job seekers hoping to secure a gainful employment.
Recruiters or human resource personnels are often faced with the stress of choosing a good CV from the thousands submitted during recruitment. That's why  job seekers need a unique CV in order to stand out and impress the recruiters.

There are four steps involved in securing an employment including writing and submitting a unique CV, writing a strong cover letter ,job aptitude tests and the job interview.

This post is here to guide the fresh graduates and indivuduals who have been in the labour market for years on how to write a unique CV and get that dream job.

Before I proceed,i will like to give a clear definition of a CV and a resume.

What is a CV?

A CV is a record of your data,educational and work backgrounds which you submit when applying for a job.

A resume lays emphasis on the person's skills and experiences. That's why it is also called " targeted CV".

Please dont mistake a CV for a resume.

  • Complete personal data.
  • Educational background.
  • Work experience including paid and volunteer jobs.
  • Interests.
  • Skills.
  • References
  • Award if any.
HOW TO WRITE A UNIQUE CV
  1. Avoid overcrowding. Make good use of space.Recruiters find overcrowded CV difficult to read.
  2. Make sure your CV is clean and free of stains.
  3. Recommended font size is 12. Avoid large,small and fancy fonts when typing your CV.
  4. Ensure your CV is complete.
  5. Update your CV frequently.
  6. Make sure your CV is concise by including only the qualities and qualifications needed for the job/ position you are applying for.
  7. Make your CV unique,the layout different from the rest.

Before submitting your CV for a job, include the skills that job/ position requires, the educational requirements and experiences. Do a thorough research on the organization/company to be aware of their policies.
