Growing up in a middle class family, I always looked up to successful people and fancied their life style. I was always fascinated by every little detail about them and so I follow their stories. The taught of the having a better life for myself have kept me tightly on the path towards achieving my goal "Success".

I chose the entrepreneurial path after I graduated from college and to ensure I attain success, I studied the lives of the successful as well as the unsuccessful. I have come across inspiring people who share the same mindset, motivation and targeted goals.

One trait is common between " successful" people and "unsuccessful" people and that is "Tragedy". Everyone  go through pains and disappointments but strengths are drawn from how situations are handled, listing our priority and making good use of  time even in the face of tragedy.

A close friend of mine told me that the secret of his success is simply avoiding being unsuccessful. In his word "I studied the lives of the successful and the unsuccessful, the happy and the unhappy and chose my path."

From all he said, I picked a point that explains that finding out those habits that often prevented people from reaching their goal and avoiding them is a driving force to success.

 1. Procrastination : Procrastination is the killer of time. It is the habitual and intentional delay of starting or finishing a task despite knowing the outcome will be negative. It is a trap that kept may people stagnant. If you find yourself in the web of Procrastinating, remember the consequences and take action. Design your future and take action.

2. Distraction : It is sometimes difficult to balance the activities of life. From work, emails, social media, pop up, social gathering and all. All these add up, creating distraction, discouragement and sometimes leaving us overwhelmed. Finding a way to balance our daily activities will help reduce the occurrence of distraction.

3. Wrong Companion :  Friends are very important . Friends either add value to you or help devalue you. Surround yourself with people who will encourage you to make positive changes in life.

4. Pessimism : Pessimism is the tendency of seeing the worst aspect of things in all situation and believing the worst will happen eventually. Many people gave up on their dreams even before they got started. Some are afraid of failing that they don't even want to try. Draw strength from knowing that nothing will happen , no positive changes will take place unless you try.

5. Not Listening to Advice : The "Know it all" set of people always make mistakes. Seek advice in areas you find difficult no matter how irrelevant it may sound. Speak Out.

 6. Laziness : There are times when we don't feel like leaving the comfort of our bed and doing nothing all day. Laziness sets in when we give in to these feeling always. A lazy person is someone who have no control over his feelings and guts.

 7. Cheerfulness : Inculcate the habit of happiness and cheerfulness. Be optimistic and nice to people around you and see yourself overly motivated.

 8. Giving Up : Often times, you see people giving up easily. Ask a successful person how many failures he encountered and hear they are too many to count. Most times, failure is not meant to keep you down but a lesson to help take you up.

Conclusion: The good things of life is all we desire.  We can never achieve them by doing nothing but by doing something. So get up and take charge of your life today.
